#21 - Marshallese Mooning

One thing that I always loved in Majuro was the full moon. Full moons would always rise over the ocean and lit up the island like I've never seen. When I went back, it JUST so happened that in the 2 week window I was there, the moon would be full. Whenever I've tried to take a picture of it, it's always either blown out or a silly little white dot in the sky and I've always wanted to learn how to take good pictures of the moon. So I figured this would be the best time to learn. So I got out my trusty (though slow) zoom and set to work on checkin' off that ol' bucket-list.

Then Ru came out and he's as interested in film as I am, and since there's nothing else to do on an island (haha) he taught me how to take even COOLER pictures of the moon! Taking longer exposures is just really cool in general, but it makes it look like it's in the middle of the day, just with stars! He took this one:

So I tried it when the moon rose behind a cloud (moon rays and everything):

And what's REALLY cool is when you manually set the white-balance. Totally looks like a sunset. WITH STARS!

Aaaaand, that's a big, fat "Check!"

Tim & Alisha | Part 2

Now as I mentioned before, this place was amazing and I was extremely lucky to be able to have the time to play. The bride and attendants got there early, so I got a chance to get some bridal portraits taken.

Then I stole the couple away during the reception and we explored the Master Suite. It included a brilliant beyond brilliant Master Bath. It gave them a chance to catch their breath from all the festivities, and provided the perfect opportunity for some private portraits.

And one definitely worth mentioning and showing was taken by my second, Sam Steele.

In hindsight, I had a blast! I'm grateful for the opportunity, God bless your marriage and the rails ahead :) Mazel tov...

Tim & Alisha | Part 1

*Breath* Exquisite. That is the only adjective that can escape my speechless description of this wedding. I was privileged and honored to shoot this wedding for my friends,Tim and Alisha, on the beautiful Chestnut Hill Estate.

This place just HAD to be built with photographers in mind...if not, its builders are no doubt rolling in their well-designed graves at the thought of trigger-happy photographers like myself gallivanting around the place like giddy three-year-olds on a jungle-gym. It didn't matter where I turned, it was GORGEOUS and just had to be played with.

I also had the advantage of knowing the entire wedding party from high school, so this was the primo-opportunity, one that I am so thankful to be given.

And without further ado, here go the happenings of the day. Portraits to follow! (Too many favorites to include in one post. Don't want to wear you out :)
