Black Balsam Knob | Casey & Greg

I shamelessly use photography to either a) go on adventures that I don't usually, or b) reconnect with friends.  When it happens to do both, it's always a good day.

Casey and Greg both worked at the summer camp I did—Casey being the one I knew the best because of co-counseling and working the rock wall together.  So fun with hearts of southern gold, the mountains called them back and we took a quick jaunt up to Black Balsam Knob.

Not too long after they renew their vows this coming weekend, they're taking off to Germany (!!) where Greg will be stationed.  Alps, shmalps, they may be bigger mountains but I hope you guys make it back to these someday ;-)

Loved seeing you guys again!

"Hey look, a rainbow!"
"Awesome!  Huh.  I wonder if it'll show up on-camera...AHH it does, get over here!"

"May the road rise up to meet you..."
Blessings on the trails ahead.

Vintage | Julia

Suffice it to say I'm a fan of this chica.  I got to know her last year when I did a shoot with her and her sister, and then later with her awesome family—good solid upbringing is sadly hard to come by nowadays, but a quick read over their philosophy will tell you that theirs can be one to look up to.

And don't be fooled by the stylish vintage garb—this girl can handle herself.  One heck of a basketball player and one who doesn't hesitate to correct your hard-work terminology (i.e.  "That's not a tractor, that's a skidder..."), she's so full of life and has a desire for God and family.

The shoot was a blast, hun—gonna miss seeing you around these parts!

Also thanks to tinaDesigns for the use of her chair!

Brush Creek | Leah & Tyler

A little perseverance was all it took for Tyler to snag Leah's hand in marriage ;-)  A year apart when Leah spent a year abroad solidified her steadfast opinion that the door was closed.  Despite the grim outlook, Tyler continued to pursue and they eventually relit the spark.  :)

Finding each other again culminated in a fabulous wedding day, rain and all!  So many fantastic details, personally made with love by the family—venue included.

The day took place at Brush Creek, a location lovingly tended and maintained by none other than Leah's parents.

It was such a fun day to photograph!  And also props to my lovely second Aimee Burchard for being awesome :)

The rain held off so well during the ceremony—but even if it poured something fierce during the reception...doesn't mean we didn't jump at the chance to make the rain into a little magic ;-)
