Bodybuilding | Caroline

I keep out-of-the-ordinary on the docket to sustain my interest and sharpen the skills—every once and again, I'll get the awesome opportunity to photograph out of my norm so I can experiment.

Thankfully I have the best clients that let me try basically anything I jolly-well want to when it comes to lighting or setups for composites.  Or ideas that involve tossing water all over them.

Caroline's mah girrrl and so dear to me—she was my junior camper years ago, she and her twin sis (Amanda, who also accompanied and was a pro at assisting with my strobes).  We've kept in touch over the years and she's always been one that's remained close.

This was a week before one of her competitions—thanks to a local Asheville Crossfit gym (Crossfit 828), we got a chance to play to our heart's content.  She's a beast!

Enjoy :)

As soon as she mentioned an athletic shoot, I was already thinking of ideas; one involved water, such as the ones above, and another was of a composite.  Simple and clean, loved going with this idea.

Bent Creek | Yaneli and Megan

These two lovely ladies teamed up and did their senior photos together—we gathered and headed off to the woods of North Carolina amidst the fallen leaves (that I'm missing immensely in California).

Megan, I got to know at a soup kitchen actually; she and I were both serving and it was fun getting acquainted (and hearing her gorgeous singing voice).  A beauty inside and out!

Yaneli, I hadn't really gotten to know until an awesomely transparent conversation later—truly a beautiful soul with a purpose God is indeed protecting her for.  Differing opinions need not apply; she's made it through a heap of life.

Friendship is always a living being—fluid and beautiful.  In some cases, it not only survives a shattering earth, but blooms bright life from a cracked ground.

Lacie and I have been through a whole heap together over the past 10 years (Great Scott, it's been that long?! We're old.)—we've weathered many distances, tears, and sleepless nights where we questioned God and the fairness of life; a close friend is an understatement.  I don't doubt one second that this friendship will last the rest of our lives.

She got married earlier last month, and though I was mainly there to help with the wedding, I stole her away for some bridal shots in her mama's wedding dress.

Lacie dearest, I love seeing you this content and joyful—I remember when it was all we prayed for, and I'm incredibly happy to witness it.  It was such an honor to be there for you on your special day and I'm so thankful you and Bobby found one another.  And remember, the wall is always available ;-)

*Hugs for life!*
